Dear Greens,

Please join us this Valentine's Day as we co-host a Mayoral Forum
with other SF Progressive groups. Details are in the first event
listing, below. Greens are also participating in events in the next
week to organize against war and in support of living wages.

Because of California's "top two" primary system, Greens no longer
get to have our own primary. All Greens running for office in the
June primary must turn in thousands of signatures, or pay exorbitant
fees, in order to appear on the ballot.

We have not endorsed any candidate for Governor. However, we
know of at least two Greens raising funds to try to get ballot access:

Veronika Fimbres is an activist from SF who has been receiving
great coverage in local media:

Her campaign website, where you can find a donation link, is

Josh Jones is a former President of the Berniecrats of Yolo
County. He was a grassroots organizer for Bernie Sanders' 2016
campaign, who then returned to the Green Party after recognizing the
corruption in the Democratic Party, from the national, to the state,
to the county level. You can find out more about him, as well
as a donation link, on his website:

Joe Berry, a member of the Executive Board of the American Federation of
Teachers Local 2121 at City College of San Francisco, wrote "Reclaiming
the Ivory Tower: Organizing Adjuncts to Change Higher Education." His
book describes the political-economic situation of the "new majority"
of college teachers and outlines organizing strategies to improve pay,
job security and working conditions of part-time faculty. Berry is a

remains active in the contingent faculty movement as a leader of the New
Faculty Majority and the Coalition of Contingent Academic Labor (COCAL).

you Learn at Work Today?” explains how collective learning takes place
in the midst of conflict. The book is based on her years of experience
as a labor educator and is intended for use by organizers and activists.
After retiring from the University of Illinois Labor Education Program,
she and Joe Berry have been teaching in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam, in

What: Lobby Day for a Living Wage
Where: SF City Hall. Meet on the Polk Street steps
When: Tues, Feb 13, noon

Call your Board of Supervisors TODAY and tell them to support raising
the Minimum Compensation Ordinance: (415) 554-5184.

We – SF Homecare workers, Non-profit workers, and Airport workers--
are urging the SF Board of Supervisors to adopt a new Minimum
Compensation Ordinance that will help raise wages for hundreds of low
wage workers providing public services to seniors, children, people
with disabilities and the homeless.

Come express your views and ask SF Supervisors where they stand on
supporting raising wages for low-income families. Supervisors could be
voting on a Minimum Compensation Ordinance measure that will raise
wages to $ 1.86 above the minimum wage.
