I am actually supporting Chris Carlson for Governor (since I am his campaign treasurer.)
However, I can clearly see from the video that 1 ) It was meant as satire 2 ) It is making a serious point on the corrupt nature of campaign finance system and 3 ) It was meant to generate publicity. 
Given the nature of the discussion on this thread, their plan is clearly working.
