A founding mother of the Green Party of the US, Jennifer Ellingston, once said to me that a Green should always recommend a constructive idea when she offers a critique.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">We should always share at least one positive reason to donate when we fundraise. I love comedy, satire and creativity. I have worked for some of the funniest, most creative Green in the country. They always add a shred of truth, positivity to their presentation.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">OK…You made it this far. Let me tell you a little bit more about me.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I am an elected official in San Rafael, CA, 18 miles north of the Golden Gate Bride in the Bay Area. I serve on a school board and educate 2,000 children. I care three children at home with my partner who is also a Green. Our budget is limited. If I could, I would donate to every Green candidate in the United States. </div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">This video does not motivate me. I feel like it blames me. The clear message is that the candidates only made the video because not enough people donated. The video feels like a punishment to Greens like me.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Why do I care so much? In Marin County where I live, we have many Green elected officials and have a very affluent, very progressive population. Our Green elected officials struggled like warriors to get elected. We have some networks and sway. I would never share the video with my friends because it’s embarrassing and confusing and not positive. The Governor of California would never make this kind of video. Feinstein, Jill Stein, Ajamu Baraka, Cornel West (when things looked like he
might Go Green) and Luis Rodriguez (the GPCA's 2014 Gubernatorial candidate).
Based upon those interactions, I was impressed by the Green Party, effectively
going Green the following month. Since then, I have learned a lot about the
Green Party and its inner workings. I love how there is a high value on
