It is just a clever deceptive trick.

If you read between the lines, you'll notice that PG&E is not talking 
about -its- solar panels, it is talking about solar panels that 
individual customers have put on their own homes and businesses.

The actual amount of solar energy that PG&E produces and sells to its 
customers is:
