December 16: Hearing on Sharp Park Report

On Wednesday December 16th at 1 pm, the Government Audits and Oversight Committee will hold a public hearing on the report from the Rec and Park Department on Sharp Park. Sharp Park, which contains an 18-hole golf course, is located in Pacifica but owned by San Francisco. The report outlines three alternatives for restoring the endangered species habitat at the park, each of which would cost many millions of dollars. Supervisor Mirkarimi is greatly concerned by the prospect of San Francisco investing such substantial resources into a park outside our city limits while here in San Francisco we are laying off rec center staff, raising fees, and neglecting the maintenance of our parks, playgrounds, and rec centers. For more information on Sharp Park, including a link to the report, see November's newsletter.
