Immigrant, civil rights groups hold news conference at SF City Hall
Prayers offered in wake of tragic shooting
Groups call for dialogue, lament scapegoating of immigrant communities
What: News conference with faith, civil rights, and immigrant leaders.
The
conference will begin with an offering of prayers and condolences for
Kathryn Steinle and her family. Speakers will lament efforts to exploit
the tragic shooting for political purposes and highlight the importance
of San Francisco's policies for upholding constitutional protections and
building community confidence in law enforcement. Organizations will
call for state, local, and national leaders to engage in thoughtful dialogue.
