Maxwell hearing on May 11
On Monday, May 11, in the BOS Land Use Committee,
Supervisor
Maxwell has called for a hearing on the status of the closure of the
Potrero
Power Plant and for establishing a 100% clean energy future for the
City:
[Closing Potrero Power Plant, adopting clean
energy goals,
and updating the Electricity Resource Plan]
Ordinance establishing City policy to take all feasible
steps to close the entire Potrero Power Plant as soon as possible and
urging
the Public Utilities Commission to immediately prepare a plan to close
the
Potrero Power Plant; and establishing clean energy goals; and urging
the Public
Utilities Commission to update the Electricity Resource Plan.
Before the hearing, we would like to sit down with
you and
discuss the City’s recent efforts and recommendations for how the City
can meet
CAISO's reliability criteria through 2018. We will also discuss the
most
recent information regarding the CAISO Local Capacity Requirement and
Resource
Adequacy process and Reliability Must Run (RMR) process.
