Hi friends,
This is a big week. On Thursday, campus divestment campaigns around the country are taking action for #FossilFreedom. Here in the Bay Area we've got some very special events planned, and our co-founder Bill McKibben will be in town.
“Divest the West to Lead the Rest” Action in SFThursday, May 2nd, 2:30-3:30 PM
San Francisco Civic Center
Fossil Free SFSU isn't just planning another rally: this is going to be a spectacle. We'll hear from inspiring speakers, form a giant map of the US with our bodies, and generally have a great time in downtown SF. Speakers include Bill McKibben, City Supervisors John Avalos and Malia Cohen, and student leaders from around the Bay Area. You won't want to miss this. RSVP on Facebook here.
Climate Correspondents at the Commonwealth Club
Thursday, May 2nd, 5:30 PM
The Commonwealth Club, San Francisco
Then, on Thursday evening, Bill will be joining a panel of renowned environmental journalists to discuss the practice of journalism in the developing world, storytelling as organizing tool, how and why some writers are becoming advocates, and more. Tickets & more info here. Use the promo code "350CLIMATE" for a $15 discount.
It's inspiring to see so much happening this week, both here in the Bay Area and around the country. Hope to see you soon!
Onward,
Jamie
