Hi all, At around 12:50 pm today, during a special meeting of the Board of Supervisors which was held to decide whether to reject a draconian Muni budget that is balanced on the backs of the poor and environmentally conscious non-drivers; Board President David Chiu betrayed his own campaign promises, and Supervisor Sophie Maxwell yet again betrayed the many residents in her own district who depend on public services like mass transit for social equity. Both voted not to reject the Muni budget and to instead accept a transit budget which makes transit riders pay four times what car drivers will pay to supposedly stabilize our transportation funding in San Francisco. Please let supervisors Chiu and Maxwell know how displeased you are with their cowardly deferral to the Mayor's office and to higher income voters who do not want to accept environmentally crucial increased parking fees.
