Transportation and Land Use Coalition Dear TALC Member Group representative, During the past seven years, there has been a fundamental shift in transportation priorities for the Bay Area. Sprawl inducing freeways now receive a smaller percentage of funding, while more resources are allocated to transit, walking, and biking. With billions in the pipeline for new transit expansions, there are great opportunities ahead. On Saturday, April 9, the Transportation and Land Use Coalition’s 8th Annual Summit: Got Sustainability? Charting a New Course Towards Walkable Communities and World Class Transit will focus on these opportunities and some unique new challenges facing the region. TALC will be launching new initiatives at the Summit to help communities tackle these challenges. This Summit will be a great opportunity to network and to learn about key issues – transit funding, bicycle/pedestrian advocacy, parking policy, labor issues, and more. And this year we will feature new training sessions at the end of the day to help you hone your advocacy skills and your knowledge of key issues. Bagels, coffee and tea will be served in the morning, and lunch will be provided. The normal registration fee is $10, but this year we are offering all TALC Member Groups four free admissions.
