cover letter to joe speaks
Hello all, see below and attached a cover letter to Joe Speaks at the Municipal Transportation Agency.. Joe is a carless Green (though his wife may have a car), a former aide to Jake McGoldrick now working at the MTA directly under Michael Burns. He will likely read our transportation plank. Sue The Transportation Working Group of the San Francisco Green Party 1028A Howard Street San Francisco, California 941 March __, 2005 Joe Speaks Municipal Transportation Agency San Francisco, California 94102 Dear Joe: The purpose of the Transportation Working Group of the San Francisco Green Party is to promote social, economic and environmental justice through the expansion of inexpensive and appealing public transportation services, and improved pedestrian areas and safer bicycling, especially in underserved and low-income neighborhoods of San Francisco. For this reason, we would like to share with you a copy of our transportation plank, adopted by the San Francisco Green Party late last year. Please note that this transportation plank is divided into categories dealing with transit justice, the Muni and regional transit, parking, taxis, pedestrians, bicycles, and streets and cars. Based on the principles included in this document, the Transportation Working Group of the San Francisco Green Party has lobbied members of the Board of Supervisors, the Board of Directors of the Municipal Transportation Agency, members of the Golden Gate Park Concourse Authority and other officials on a number of issues, and we plan to continue to do so. It is our hope that these officials begin to implement decisions based on this plank. With your help, we hope they begin to do so sooner, rather than later. We hope you and your family are well, and congratulations on the birth of your little baby girl! Sincerely, Sue Vaughan and John-Marc Chandonia Co-chairs of the Transportation Working Group of the San Francisco Green Party __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Great letter; let's go with it. Do you still have the printed copies of the platform I gave you at the MTA meeting? I could print some more by Wednesday if we need more. JMC -- John-Marc Chandonia (jmc@sfgreens.org) http://www.dolorespark.org/
