Re: [Transpo] next meeting, parking tax
I'm happy to endorse it. We don't need a meeting. Hope you can all make it to Krissy's event on Wednesday night at the Bazaar Cafe, 5927 California between 21st and 22nd avenues, 7 to 9 p.m. Sue -- John-Marc Chandonia <jmc@sfgreens.org> wrote: Hi, The text of the parking tax ordinance is available here: http://www.sfgov.org/site/uploadedfiles/election/Candidates_&_Campaigns/Park... The two main things it does are increase the tax on parking lots from 25% to 35% (with the extra 10% going to the General Fund), and extend the tax to cover valet parking as well as parking lots. I would prefer that the extra 10% be directed to MUNI, and that "free" parking lots be taxed as well, but I'm still happy to endorse this ordinance. Is there any other business we need to cover at our regular meeting tomorrow? Are there any concerns about us recommending that the SFGP endorse the parking legislation? If not, let's just skip this month's TWG meeting and make the decision online.
