Double Parking on Duncan Street
From our email account. This email was also send to several Supervisors. Maybe someone in Transpo can thank Sylvia for her message?

reply to: "Kundig, Sylvia" _SKUNDIG@ftc.gov_ (mailto:SKUNDIG@ftc.gov) Greetings, At 8:15 a.m., there were no less than three vehicles double parked on Duncan Street at Church next the the three (3) green zones the City established without notice to the residents of Duncan Street. On of the three, one was a huge SUV. As noted, putting three (3) green zones for a coffee shop really shows that the City wants to encourage people to commute to work in SUV's. Maybe people should walk for their lattes and parking should be reserved for families who live on the street. As it stands, people who might want to park close to home in the event their child needs urgent care in the middle of the night, can't. The City seems to think it is more important to have three (3) parking spaces reserved for the commute by car crowd. Also, I am still waiting for the underlying documentaion regarding the City's placement of the three (3) green zones for the Martha Brothers coffee shop on Church and Duncan. As you must know, Church Street is a transit corridor and the nearest muni stop is a mere block away. I would like to know how the discussion of these facts, and the fact that the residents of Duncan Street have been requesting traffic calming for years, were dealt with. We already know that the City cannot establish appropriate notice. I requested this information last summer, I have requested it again. At no time has the Mayor's Office or Bevan Dufty's Office indicated that there was a more appropriate way to make a request. Certainly you are not trying to hide something. sk ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
