The National Weather Service issued the warning at 12:52 a.m. for California. Hawaii has issued evacuation notices on the coastal areas. Authorities in California are actively working to assess the potential damage the tsunami may cause. The Coast Guard asks citizens to stay away from the coast as it is deemed not safe.
