Go Matt Go! Book Party Cancelled
The publication party has been CANCELLED for Monday, October 25, due to
problems with shipping in the new books. For those of you who already ordered a
book, Nicole will be shipping your copies out as they arrive. For everyone else,
you can order the book off BarnesandNoble.com or Amazon.com.
The Political Edge is a new book just published by City Lights. In the wake
of the astonishing popular mobilization on behalf of an underdog campaign to
elect Green Party Matt Gonzalez mayor of San Francisco, The Political Edge
analyzes emergent political energies, where they came from, and where they¹re
going.

Renee Saucedo, our candidate for District 9 Supervisor, got some additional
endorsements. The Transport Workers Union Local 200 made Renee their first
choice and presented her with a $200 contribution from their Committee for
Political Education. TWU Local 200 represents 245 MUNI supervisors and other City
employees. The San Francisco Bay View Newspaper and the National Organization
for Women (NOW) have also endorsed Renee.

Pat Gray, Green Party candidate for CD12, has scored some local media
coverage! Pat will appear on "Meet the Candidates 2004", a program produced by
KTVU-TV Channel 2. The first show will air on KICU, Channel 36, on Friday, October
22 from Noon to 12:30 PM. The program will also air on KTVU-TV Channel 2 on
Saturday, October 23 from 8:30 - 9:00 PM. Candidate interviews may also be
viewed individually on the KTVU web site at http://www.ktvu.com.
Pat is scheduled to be on KPFA-FM at 8:08 AM on Thursday, October 28.
Pat was also mentioned in the San Mateo County Times article recently.

Supervisor Candidates Robert Haaland and Ross Mirkarimi, as well as School Board
Candidates Mark Sanchez, Eric Mar, Jane Kim and Dr. James Calloway. Enjoy music,

The Commonwealth Club is hosting a forum "Ranked-Choice Voting in San
Francisco's November 2004 Election: How It Works and Why It Matters".

Speakers include Steven Hill, Co-Founder and Associate Director of the Center for
Voting and Democracy, and Richard DeLeon of San Francisco State University.

Come to a District 5 Forum and hear the candidates talk with Western Addition
residents about youth violence. Forum begins at 7:30 PM and takes place at

Opening of Terry Baum's play "Two Fools or Love Conquers All - Not!"
Two women, one American and one Costa Rican - they can't live without each
other. But where in the world can they legally live WITH each other? This
lesbian Odd Couple confronts personal and cultural differences, while they
struggle with immigration issues. It is the funny, passionate story of Gracie
and
Luna, who claim the right to love without borders. Play runs through November

African-American Voter March
Lisa Feldstein, our #2 endorsed candidate for District 5, has organized a
march to call attention to African-American voting power. The march will provide
all registered voters marching to City Hall with the opportunity to vote
on-site.
Lisa will be marching with other community leaders such as Bill Barnes,
former aide to Supervisor Chris Daly, and Dr. James Calloway, candidate for the San
Francisco School Board. March begins at 2 PM at the Ella Hill Hutch
Community Center, located at 1050 McAllister Street near Webster, and ends at City
Hall.
