I. Events:
    
Thursday, August 9:
    SF Commission of Animal Control and Welfare Meeting at 5:30 PM. The Commission will consider a resolution to oppose the abusive factory farming practice of the confinement of egg-laying hens in battery cages. City Hall, Room 408, in San Francisco. Monday, August 13:
    Testify in support of a resolution calling for a halt to the annual Blue Angels air show in San Francisco.  San Francisco Board of Supervisors Government Audits and Oversight (GAO) Committee, 10:00am at City Hall in Room 263.

Friday, August 10:
    Join mayoral candidate Ahimsa Porter Sumchai at City Hall at 12 noon when she submits her nominating papers.

Monday, August 13:
    Participate in a discussion with Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi at the SFGP office, 1028a Howard Street, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Wednesday, August 15:
-- Monthly San Francisco Green Party General Membership Meeting, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., 1028a Howard Street.  All are welcome.  We well consider our party position on the following local ballot measures:
1. Muni Charter Reform
2. Holdover Appointments
3. Public hearing for ballot measures
4. WiFi
5. No Ads/Billboards

Saturday, August 18:
    Special General Membership meeting.  Mayoral candidates and candidates for District Attorney and Sheriff are invited to the San Francisco Green Party to participate in our endorsement process; 12 noon to 5 p.m.; 1028a Howard Street, between 6th and 7th streets.  Our agenda follows:

1.  12:05-12:50 Sheriff
2.  1-1:45 DA
3.  2-4:30 Mayoral candidates
4.  4:15-5 Airport Police Retirement initiative

Sunday, August 19:
    WestSide Green Club Meeting. 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the home of Barry Hermanson, 2467 - 28th Avenue, near Ulloa.  Refreshments served; children welcome.

Wednesday, August 22
    Special GM endorsement meeting.  7:30 to 9:30 p.m. 1028a Howard Street.  We will consider the following ballot measures:
1. Library Preservation Fund
2. Golden Gate Horse stables
3. Small Business Advisory Commission

Saturday, September 15:
    There may be another Beach Impeach Flashmob Project, but this time it will not be at Ocean Beach.  Brad Newsham is working on getting a permit for different place.  Stay tuned!
