Dear Greens,

This is the final weekend to gather signatures to get an
initiative on the ballot to protect Golden Gate Park from toxic
artificial turf. Let's keep the athletic fields in Golden Gate Park
natural grass! Contrary to recently published news coverage, Greens
support well-maintained parks. To read more about why the Mayor's
fake turf plan is such a bad idea, see Mike Murphy's article here:

Please join us at the events below to help us gather signatures.

We'll also be starting our endorsements for November this month; see
details of our monthly membership meeting below. New members welcome!

This July 4 is a great time to declare your Independence from the
two corporate-sponsored political parties! Here's how:

July 7-8

Call your Supervisor to ask them to support the CARES program! SF
Supervisors will vote this Tuesday on whether to study joining
Richmond, CA (where Green Party member Gayle McLaughlin is the Mayor)
in trying to prevent foreclosures through the use of their eminent
domain power. Richmond is poised to save 625 underwater homes from
foreclosure, and they need just one more California city to join them
in order to move forward! Supervisors Avalos, Campos, and Mar are
sponsoring this proposal, so please call the other Supervisors to
ask them to support it as well.

Call 554-5184 and ask to be transferred to your District supervisor,
or email Board.of.Supervisors at sfgov.org

If you don't know who your supervisor is, the clerk can transfer
you to the right one if you give them your address.

SF Green Party Monthly Members Meeting
Wed, July 23 - 7-9 pm
Redstone Building, Room 302
2940 16th Street (between Mission and South Van Ness)

We hold monthly meetings on the 4th Wednesday of every month. This
month marks the start of our November endorsement season--we'll make
our endorsements on ballot initiatives in July, and on candidates in
August.

If you want to ask questions or find out more about ballot initiatives
and the Green arguments in favor or against, come to our meeting this
month! All our meetings are open to the public, so come if you're a
new member or thinking of joining us.
