Dear Greens,
Please join us next Wednesday as we finalize our endorsements for
this November! We've already endorsed a number of ballot props, as
well as for Mayor and all Supervisorial contests. These are posted on
our website:

Some events in support of our endorsed candidates and ballot
measures are listed below. Please join us tommorow, Aug 22, at the
Prop L kickoff (see below for details).
Summary of Green Party endorsements to date:
President / VP: Drs. Jill Stein and Butch Ware
Local SF offices:
* Mayor: Aaron Peskin (#1 ranked choice), Dylan Hirsch-Shell (#2 ranked choice)
* D1 Supervisor: Connie Chan
* D3 Supervisor: Sharon Lai
* D5 Supervisor: Dean Preston
* D7 Supervisor: no endorsement
* D9 Supervisor: no endorsement
* D11 Supervisor: Ernest "EJ" Jones (#1 ranked choice), Adlah Chisti (#2 ranked
choice)
Local Ballot Measures:
* NO on Prop D, eliminating many City commissions and further empowering the Mayor
* YES on Prop L, ComMUNIty Transit Act
State Ballot Measures:
* NO on Prop 2 (pay for school maintenance through bonds rather than state budget)
* YES on Prop 3 (repeals Prop 8, the CA constitutional prohibition on same-sex marriage)
* NO on Prop 5 (makes it easier to spend public bond money on private luxury housing)
* YES on Prop 6 (reduces coercion of forced prison labor)
* YES on Prop 32 (increases minimum wage)
* YES on Prop 33 (allows more rent control)
* NO on Prop 36 (war on drugs, longer jail sentences for nonviolent crimes)

The Community Transit Act's campaign kickoff is on Thu, Aug 22 from
6:30–8:30 PM at El Rio. Please join us even if you weren't able to
help with signature gathering, and spread the word!

What: Green Party endorsement meeting / members' meeting
Where: 2973 16th St, #300, SF (note new location!)
When: Wed, August 28, 6:30-9:30 pm
Agenda:
* 6:30-8:30 - Interview candidates for other offices besides
Mayor and Supervisor: School Board, College Board, DA, BART Board
* 8:30-9:30 - Decide on endorsements (including remaining Props)
Our process this year will be different than in previous years.
We will consider endorsments for all candidates who answer our
questionnaires, which we will email to everyone in the race after the
filing deadline whose contact information we can find. Candidates'
answers will be posted on our website. However, we will only
interview candidates who at least 2 active members want to invite. We
do not have questionnaires for all contests, but the same invitation
rules will apply.
Every 4th Wednesday the SF Green Party meets to discuss issues of
concern, listen to interesting speakers, endorse events, plan outreach
and more! Everyone welcome. All meetings are wheelchair accessible.
To make a presentation or gain the SFGP endorsement of events and

Mask policy: Masks are currently optional indoors, for both vaccinated
and non-vaccinated people. We provide the option for SF Green Party
members and invited candidates to participate in our meetings via
Zoom, so email cc at sfgreens.org for info on how you can join us
virtually.
