Dear Greens,
Our first endorsement meeting of the year will be on June 26, the
same night as our regular members' meeting. We'll interview
candidates for Mayor and Supervisor between 6:30-8:30 pm, and then try
to reach consensus on endorsements between 8:30-9:30. If you know of
any candidates for Mayor or Supervisor who you think we should
endorse, please remind them to return their answered quesionnaire to
us by this Friday, June 21!
Here are the questionnaires - please feel free to forward to any
candidate who may have misplaced thier copy:
* Supe - https://sfgreens.org/supe_q.txt
* Mayor - https://sfgreens.org/mayor_q.txt
Volunteers are needed for both SF Pride (June 29-30) and the SF
Mime Troupe's home opener on July 4! Details on both events are
below.

newspaper:

At our meeting in May, we endorsed the ComMUNIty Transit Act, a
community-led ballot initiative to tax Uber and Lyft to fund Muni.
You can find out more about this initiative at
https://www.sftransitact.com/
Greens are helping gather signatures to put this on the November
ballot, so it will need only 50% support to pass. Some signature
gathering events are listed below and also at

What: Green Party endorsement meeting / members' meeting
Where: 2973 16th St, #300, SF (note new location!)
When: Wed, June 26, 6:30-9:30 pm
Agenda:
* 6:30-8:30 - Interview candidates for Mayor and Board of Supervisors
* 8:30-9:30 - Decide on endorsements
Candidates for other offices besides Mayor and Supe will be
considered after the filing deadline for those offices.
Our process this year will be different than in previous years.
We will consider endorsments for all candidates who answer our
questionnaires, which we will email to everyone in the race after the
filing deadline whose contact information we can find. Candidates'
answers will be posted on our website. However, we will only
interview candidates who at least 3 active members want to invite.
We'll give the candidates until Friday, June 21, to answer our
questionnaires, then have our active members decide over the weekend
who to invite on Wednesday the 26th.
Every 4th Wednesday the SF Green Party meets to discuss issues of
concern, listen to interesting speakers, endorse events, plan outreach
and more! Everyone welcome. All meetings are wheelchair accessible.
To make a presentation or gain the SFGP endorsement of events and
issues, please contact our SFGP County Council at: cc at sfgreens.org
Mask policy: Masks are currently optional indoors, for both vaccinated
and non-vaccinated people. We provide the option for SF Green Party
members and invited candidates to participate in our meetings via
Zoom, so email cc at sfgreens.org for info on how you can join us
virtually.
