Dear Greens,
Our 2024 Vice-Presidential candidate, Dr. Butch Ware, is running
for Governor of California! In his campaign announcement, he wrote:
"We are reaching out broadly across the political spectrum, to
Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and all who are fed up with
dysfunctional politics.
We have an unprecedented opportunity in front of us to create a
state government that works for everyone, not just the wealthy and
well-connected."
Here's more of his announcement, as well as more info about how
you can get involved:

Dr. Ware was also recently on KPFK (KPFA's sister station in LA)
to discuss universal healthcare for California. Here's a link to
listen to the archive of the broadcast, from 7:30 am yesterday:

At our first meeting of 2025, Greens discussed things we'd like
to focus on this year. Some of the topics our members are working
on include:
* Muni Now, Muni Forever (saving public transit)
* Public grocery stores and pharmacies, to replace corporate
branches that are closing
* Working with organized labor (particularly Workers Strike Back)
* Starting a Green think tank like SPUR
* Clean Energy
* Environmental justice in the Bayview and Treasure Island
* Social Housing
We'll continue this planning at our February meeting (see below)
and our March meeting, which will have a special focus on new members.
Other upcoming events of interest to Greens are below:
*===========================*
What: Workers Strike Back organizing conference with Jill Stein,
Chris Hedges, and Kshama Sawant
Where: Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center, Seattle, WA, and online
When: Sat, Feb 22, 10 am - 5 pm
We need to use our momentum from getting out the vote for Jill Stein's
antiwar pro-worker campaign to fight the rich and their two
parties. To end the wars and the genocide in Gaza. To fight against
racism, sexism, and all forms of oppression. To organize protests and
strike actions to win a $25/hour minimum wage, Medicare for All,
quality affordable housing, and good union jobs for all.
Both Democrats and Republicans are a dead end for workers, the union
movement, and the antiwar struggle. We urgently need a new,
independent, antiwar, working-class party that can take on the
billionaires & warmongers and BREAK the two-party system.
