Sorry, Barry, but this is bologna- or bull-ony, as the case may be. Camejo got most votes during the election and deserves a place to speak. I still firmly believe that Greens need to work in partnership with all the other disaffected voters to forge a coalition that I feel can, if not win the election, at least put out a strong message to the democrats that they better begin to take us seriously. A Nader/Independent/Camejo/Green ticket is power waiting to happen, if we can put down our programming long enough to let it in. Then, if Bush gets reelected, we impeach the a-h, if he hasn't already been by election day! Don At 04:07 PM 6/22/04 -0700, Barry Hermanson wrote:

I'm glad you are going. The vote on Saturday is very important.
I also have a lot of respect for Peter Camejo. But, I believe that since he is no longer a candidate for the Presidential nomination, and because he is now running as part of an independent ticket - he should not be allowed to address the Green Party convention during the time reserved for candidates.

After contemplating the events of the last 24 hours, I have decided to ignore my doctor's advice and go to Milwaukee. While I have tremendous respect for Peter Camejo, I agree that it subverts grassroots democracy for a prominent Green to sign on as running mate for a candidate outside our party, and then attempt to influence the outcome of our nominating process. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I let that happen without a fight. I'll be there Thursday night. Milwaukee or bust.
