Here are my notes from today's website discussion: 6/13/15 Herrera campaign meeting for discussion of website/videos We want to enable committees to organize autonomously, so we don't need everybody to get together at big meetings. Camillo using Google Calendar to organize events; want to invite volunteers using that. We want a public Google calendar so people can see our events & appearances, maybe a private campaign calendar as well for events such as steering committee meetings. 300 volunteers signed up on NationBuilder, 70 "active" (meaning, they get invited to events). We need to port this to a real website when available. Francisco & Camillo have admin password for NB. Stuff we want on new website: * contact info for campaign people * better pictures * platform * videos * ability to sign up / donate (as on NB). * blog * Twitter/FB feeds We should consider Facebook ads "sponsored posts" in the future. Good websites to emulate: Jane Kim, Phil Ting. Need more social media - Twitter, FB posts from events. Somebody who's always with Francisco needs to install phone app (e.g., Hootsuite) to be able to post to different social media accounts as events happen. Campaign has $500 budget for web design. Dietrich will ask his friend; if not, Atilla said he knows possible volunteers. BUT before website can be designed, we'll need a visual theme / logo (e.g., Jane Kim's Red/White logo). We discussed using the "guitar" logo from the 2nd draft window sign, but there are still concerns that it might look like a musical promotion rather than a Mayoral campaign. Other logo/ icon ideas? Heart-like logo? We need to decide on a hostname for web, email. All of these seem to be available: FranciscoForSF.org FranciscoForSanFrancisco.org FranciscoForMayor.org FranciscoHerrera.org JMC will email list for suggestions, then buy a domain name. Are there any good names that would still be good to use for organizing after the election?
