Hi all, This week's Counterspin, has a great installment revealing that the decline in DDT use in malaria hot zones like Africa, happened, not because of environmental laws, but because mosquitoes have developed strong immunities to DDT because of its heavy use; a situation that Silent Spring author Rachel Carson specifically warned against. So increased malaria deaths have largely been the result of irresponsible chemical use, not environmental protections.
