If, as claimed in this article, the spent fuel ponds, including mixed oxide fuels, which contain plutonium, were incorporated in to the roof of Fukushima unit three, it is very likely that a significant radioactive release could occur even without a containment vessel breach. I can only hope we are getting the straight poop from corporate media- even PBS Evening News is partially funded by Bechtel and others.
