[Transpo] Weird 75 Year Parking Deal For SFPUC

Hi all, I am watching the regular SFPUC hearing right now and the Commissioners just approved permission for the General Manager to negotiate an agreement with the MTA and Rec & Park for a -discounted- 75 year pre-paid contract for 60 parking spaces in the Civic Center Garage. This might be a giveaway on the part of the MTA and should be scrutinized. Potentially we could get a lot more money for the general fund that could be earmarked for transit if we don't give SFPUC such a good deal. This also might unnecessarily promote car use on the part of staff and Commissioners (for 75 years!) by which time most if not all staff should not be traveling by car at all... Eric B
