She's on the Environment Commission, is very politically connected, well-spoken (though a somewhat conservative Democrat) and is doing a lot with hydrogen. I'm a hydrogen skeptic, but it would be neat to have her on the panel if we could get her. What do people think?
Minutes re. 9-22 event from 8-23: 9/22 event at Red Vic B+B (20). They have community space + little stage + projector + dvd player. Sue Vaughan is coordinating event. Should hold about 50 people, but Sue will check on number. Panelists: Ross definitely. Jillian Gillette from San Jose/Guerrero St coalition. Maybe Leah Shahum. Sue Vaughan might moderate. Bonnie Nelson (Nelson-Nygard) is doing innovative transit planning and might be a good person to ask. We should get GROW to table at Sep 20 (Tues) Richard Heinberg lecture, but we should advertise at that event for our event. Christine will make fliers.
Have people had a chance to read the SPUR document? I have already sent Dave Snyder an e-mail asking if he can help write a press release, though SPUR has already released its paper. In general, I support the SPUR paper, but want to push SPUR to consider adding trunk routes that do not serve downtown. I would turn the 44 and the 29 into trunk routes. Maybe the 28 also.
Minutes on SPUR paper from 8-23: SPUR paper (30 min) presented by Dave and Jay. We will read and debate the draft paper online; if we can consent to support for the basic concept, we'll try to coordinate a press release with SPUR.
