Bus riders at the back of the stimulus bus http://tinyurl.com/lx6sp4 Of course I wanted to blame Gavin Newsom for this local transpo debacle, but then I realized how much the federal stim bill had to do with it. Highways and bridges got more than twice the stim funds that public transit did, and public transit got no immediate operating help to stop fare hikes, serviuce cuts, etc. This is happening all over the country. Chicago may have reached into its capital fund to stop it there.
