Livable City is pleased to host Dan Sider, San Francisco's new Director of City Greening, here at our office. The Mayor's Office of City Greening was created in 2005 to lead San Francisco's efforts in physical greening of the public realm. The Greening Office, a component of the Mayor's Livable City Initiative, focuses on the quality of our streets, sidewalks, parks and plazas. With more than one-quarter of the City's total land devoted to public rights-of-way, greening plans and projects offer unique opportunities to improve the lives of all San Franciscans. As part of these efforts, the Office functions as a key facilitator of inter-agency collaboration on such matters as urban design, sustainability, transportation, and land use. Come by and meet Dan, and join an informal conversation about how we can make our streets and public spaces greener and more livable.
