I'm afraid it may be too late; I got a letter from Dianne Feinstein today suggesting as much, and that's what the information on the DOE's Global Nuclear Energy Project sites suggest, that the $50 billion loan guarantees and public assumption of private liability for nuclear accidents have already been approved. I thought they had been approved in the 2005 Energy Bill, but they seemed to be an issue again in the "Clean Energy Bill." Feinstein's letter is kind of vague and even the DOE information makes it hard to tell just what's happened in Congress. I'm trying to get hold of NIRS to find out for sure, but in the meantime, since they, (NIRS, the Nuclear Information Resource Center), still have this You Tube, produced by Musicians Against Nuclear Power, front and center on their web page, people might as well listen and sign it. It's a good listen anyway and I'm prayin' this, the promise of loan guarantees for nuclear power, so called clean energy, isn't over, though I'm afraid it may well be. There are only two presidential candidates in the field---John Edwards and Cynthia McKinney--who are not embracing nuclear power as a clean'n green "solution" to climate change, which is not a mathemtical problem to be solved, but a planetary process to be, at best, prepared for, whether hastened by carbon emissions or not, which I highly doubt.
