One correction. Chiu supported the deal. It was only Daly, Mirkarimi, Campos and Avalos who opposed. Ann Garrison wrote:

Daly, Mirkarimi, Campos, Avalos, Chiu, against. Ross spoke very well for public power, but Eric's angry defection was really disheartening.

I didn't hear David Chiu explain his no vote, though of course, I appreciated it.
