Hello Everyone, Here's a reminder of our upcoming activities, with one additional activity, a Sat., Nov. 3 mobilization to distribute newspapers. 1) Monday, Oct. 29, 6:30 p.m., phone banking to raise money to pay off newspaper expenses. 1028a Howard Street. Micheas will be there to let people in: (415) 424-5881; 2) Saturday, Nov. 3, 10 a.m. mobilization to distribute several thousand newspapers before election day. We will meet at 1028a Howard Street. You can go to you neighborhood to distribute papers or to any well-trafficked transit stop such as 24th and Church, 24th and Mission, 16th and Mission, Castro and Market, Castro and 18th, Church and Market, Dolores and Market, Haight and Fillmore, Haight and Masonic, or 9th and Irving. I will try to get authorization from the County Council for bagels and cream cheese. I will open up the office. Call 701-7090. 3) Saturday and Sunday, November 10 and 11. The Green Festival. Join Micheas and me and others at the SF Concourse Building on 8th Street at Brannan. We will get there at about 9 a.m. You can join us at whatever time of day is best for you. Sue (415) 601-9297

Hello Everyone, We have decided to do at least one more night of phone banking on Monday, October 29, starting at 6:30 p.m., 1028a Howard Street, between 6th and 7th (closer to 6th). Hello Everyone, Here is the list of upcoming SFGP volunteer opportunities: 1) Wednesday, October 24, 6 p.m. to 9p.m. -- phone banking at the SFGP office to raise money to send our election newspaper to the rest of the registered Greens. We will get take-out Vietnamese food from Tu Lan midway through the evening. Please call Micheas for more details: 424-5881; 2) Saturday, October 27, 11 a.m. -- Anti-War March and Rally. The march starts at the Civic Center and ends at Dolores Park. Members of the Westside Greens will be gathering at the Civic Center for the march -- look for the SFGP banner. Micheas and Sue will be tabling at the other end at Dolores Park. Call Sue for details: (415) 601-9297; 3) SFGP newspaper distribution -- ongoing. When you are the office, make sure to take a stack of newspapers and distribute them at transit stops and elsewhere. 4) Tuesday, October 30, 6 to 8 p.m. -- Halloween Happy Hour with Green School Board Commissioner Jane Kim at 111 Minna. You can volunteer to have a good time at this particular event! 5) Saturday, November 10 and Sunday, November 11 -- SF Green Festival at the Concourse Building at 8th and Brannan. [SFGP Volunteers] Wednesday night - need help distributing newspapers, phone banking

SF Green Party volunteers will be phone banking in the office again from 7-9 this Wednesday (tomorrow) night, to raise funds needed to mail our election newspaper to all Greens in the city. Please come by to help, and bring a cell phone if you have one. We'll provide food afterwards at 9. If you haven't made calls before, I'll show you how. If you can't make phone calls, we still need people to distribute copies of the newspaper, so come by the office and pick some up to distribute at BART or MUNI stops, or other areas with lots of foot traffic. Hello Everyone, This election cycle is REALLY important. His Republican Holiness Donald Fisher, in collusion with the construction company Webcor, has put a measure on the ballot that would turn San Francisco into a pollution and traffic nightmare -- Proposition H. In a last minute deal with Board President Aaron Peskin, supporters of H (the usuals: Committee on Jobs and the Republican Party and so on) agreed to refrain from campaigning in support of H in return for a "February Compromise." Don't ask. The Greens would have opposed the compromise. WOULD HAVE. Lord Fisher has reneged on the deal and has sent out a mailer to get H passed. We found this out today. This year the active Greens have managed to print a Green Party Election Newspaper. We have never been able to do this before. This newspaper has a long, readable explanation of our opposition to Proposition H. We have been able to print it and pay for the first mailing to absentee voter Greens. WE NEED TO RAISE THE MONEY TO SEND THE NEWSPAPER TO THE REST OF THE REGISTERED GREENS. WE NEED YOUR HELP PHONE BANKING REGISTERED GREENS TO RAISE THAT MONEY. WE ARE PHONE BANKING ON MONDAY, OCT. 15 FROM 7 TO 9 P.M., AND WED., OCT. 17. FROM 7 TO 9 P.M. 9 (we will hold a shortened General Membersip meeting starting at 9 p.m.). Dear Volunteers, Here are our upcoming volunteer opportunities: 1) Bluegrass festival in GGP. October 6, 7, and 8 -- We may going out to distribute palm cards and buttons but call me at my number below; 1) Castro Street Fair, Sunday, October 7; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Join us for tabling in celebration of the Castro and its life; 2) We may be phone bank at the October 17 GM to raise money to mail our 8-page newspaper (thank you, John-Marc). We will decide whether or not to phone bank at our Tuesday, October 9. We tentatively invite you to join us for a night of phone-banking and food on Wednesday, October 9. 3) October 27 -- Anti-war demo at the Civic Center. Tabling is FUN!
