Hello Fellow Greens,

In this update:

2. Events

NEWS:
The Supreme Court of the United States declined to hear Terry Baum's case,
Baum v. Arntz. This may negatively impact a mayor's race in San Diego, where a
similar controversy erupted over write-in candidate Donna Frye. The
controversies reflect Kevin Shelly's misnamed "Every Vote Counts" amendment to the
state constitution, which was the basis for tossing out thousands of votes in San
Francisco and San Diego. The issue is being looked into by the Green Party of
California's Electoral Reform Working Group. The San Francisco Examiner
briefly covered Terry's case.

District 3 Supervisor Aaron Peskin is likely to be the next Board President,
and District 6 Supervisor Daly easily escaped a censure motion. Some 70
supporters, Greens among them, spoke in support of Daly during the extensive public
comment on November 23.

Party member Richard Marquez. They also reported on a plan to widen MLK as part
of an effort to build a parking garage in Golden Gate Park.

parking garage and the failed attempt to censure Supervisor Daly.
