President!

San Francisco Green Party County Council member Maureen DeBoer gave birth to 
Brooke Liberty DeBoer Peters last week!  Congratulations goes out to Maureen 
and her family.

We had a great time at the Pride Parade last weekend!  See a photo of our

The San Jose Mercury News did a story about the initiative being considered 
to give non-citizens voting rights in school board elections.  The story 
included a photo of our own Berta Hernandez and her children.  Visit

EVENTS
Sunday, July 4
Join Terry Baum, Green candidate for Congressional District 8, at 1 PM in 
Dolores Park to hand out literature and talk to the people gathered for the SF 
Mime Troupe Show. Just look for Terry, with her "Baum for Congress" sign. Then 
stay and watch the play, which begins at 2 PM.  For more information about

Thursday, July 8
There will be a press conference at 24th and Mission Streets to announce Matt 
Gonzalez's endorsement of Renee Saucedo for District 9 Supervisor.  All are 
welcome to attend the press conference, which will be held at 10 AM.  For more

Thursday, July 8
Join School Board Member Mark Sanchez (the first SF Green to run for 
re-election) and Jake McGoldrick at Nani's Coffee Shop, located at 2739 Geary 
Boulevard (near Masonic) from 7-9 PM.  Mark and Jake will talk about community issues 
such as education, planning, transportation and much more!

Saturday, July 10
The New Progressive Left Movement Presents Communities Speak for Themselves: 
Environmental Racism and Violence in the Community. There will be a panel 
presentation by community members and activists followed by open discussion, along 
with cultural performances and a BBQ lunch.  Progressives everywhere are 
affected by the root causes of these issues, while the battles are being waged in 
communities of color. All progressives are invited to join the community 
discussion of these important issues.  Panelists include Maurice Campbell, Lynne 
Brown, Dr. Ahimsa Sumchai, Ray Tomkins, John Nauer, Barbara George and Berta 
Hernandez.  The event is being held from 12 Noon - 5 PM at the Meyers Recreation 
Center, also known as the Kiska Gym, located at 195 Kiska Road.  The 54 Muni 
from 3rd and Hudson stops right in front.  Sponsored by Progressive Left 
Movement, Community First Coalition and All Islanders Gathering as One.  For more

Saturday July 10 & 17
Join the Renee Saucedo for District 9 Supervisor campaign for precinct walks 
at 10 AM at 522 Valencia Street between 16th and 17th Streets.

Thursday, July 15
Terry Baum finally gets her day in court!  Come and show your support for 
Terry's fight to get on the ballot in November!  Meet at Superior Court, 400 
McAllister Street (at Polk) at 9 AM for a short rally and press conference. Then 
attend the hearing, which should be fairly short. Let's hope that all Terry's 
ballots, with and without arrows, will finally be counted.

Friday, July 16
Join Medea Benjamin, Eleazar Aramburo of La Raza Lawyers Association, 
television reporter Lupita Figueiredo, and others for the Women for Renee Saucedo 
fundraiser.  The event begins at 6 PM, and is being held at Back to the Picture 
Latino Art Gallery, located at 934 Valencia, between 20th Street and Liberty.

July 23, 24, and 25
The Annual Northern California Green Campout 
All Greens are invited to join us for our annual social gathering in the Sly 
Park Recreation Area, Pollock Pines, California (up hwy 50 in El Dorado 
County). You can join us for all three days or any portion thereof. No reservations 
needed. Arrive at main gate, and tell them you're with the Green Party at 
Dogwood camp. This is a large campsite at the back of a large lake (9.5 miles 
around). The campsite is in a tall pine forest at 4000 feet elevation, and is 
bordered on the back by only the El Dorado National Forest.
Activities include swimming, hiking, boating/canoeing-BYO boat or canoe, and 
a voluntary fireside joke-fest.
