NEWS:
The San Francisco Bay Guardian endorsed both of our Congressional candidates, 
Terry Baum for the 8th Congressional District and Pat Gray for the 12th 
Congressional District.

about how November 2004 will be a test for progressives.  

Lisa Feldstein, our #2 candidate for District 5, received some additional 
labor endorsements this week.  Read about it at

Channel 29 cable access is airing some stories about local Greens.  A 
half-hour video of Pat Gray answering questions from the community will air Sunday, 
October 17 at 6 PM and Friday, October 22 at 7:30 PM.  San Francisco Green 
Party Spokesperson Erika McDonald can be seen talking about the SFGP on the 
program "Newsroom on AccessSF", which airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 2 PM.  The 
episode that covers the SFGP will air until October 26.

Artists for Jane Kim!  Renowned slam artists Bao Phi, Shailja Patel, Jason 
Mateo, James Kass, Adriel Luis, and Aimee Suzara raise their voices in support 
of Jane Kim for School Board in this combination performance and art auction. 
Works from local Bay Area photographers, graphic artists, painters will be on 
silent auction.  Event begins at 7 PM at the Punch Gallery, located at 155 10th

Join us for Jailbirds' Afternoon Delight: A benefit for the legal expenses of 
June Brashares and Terry Baum. Come and enjoy dessert, coffee, and lurid

describe her courageous assault on the Republican National Convention!  Listen to

Kathy Roberts, tireless advocate for Golden Gate Park is hosting a Green
Party meet and greet for the District 5 Green party candidates.  The focus 
will be on issues surrounding Golden Gate Park, including the parking garage, 
park access, pedestrian safety and bike issues.  The event will be held from 7 - 
9 PM and at the Cafe Reverie in Cole Valley.  Cafe Reverie is on Cole Street, 
about 3-4 stores down from the N Judah stop.

Indy Bands for Jane Kim!  Hosted by Board of Supervisors President Matt 
Gonzalez and featuring musical guests Dealership, John Hartfield (with Matt 
Gonzalez on bass), Goh Nakamura, and the Skyflakes.  Event will be held from 8 - 10

Tuesday, October 19
Come see a new 30-minute, grassroots-driven documentary that breaks down the 
current scandal in California's youth prison system - and how the state can 
solve it.  Books Not Bars teamed up with the group WITNESS to make this film, 
and its world premiere will be at Grand Lake Theater, located at 3200 Grand 
Avenue in Oakland.  CYA is notorious as the most abusive youth prison system in 
the nation. Find out why in exclusive interviews with former CYA youth, parents, 
advocates and activists. Learn about the human rights crisis in CYA -- and 
about the movement to end this crisis and revolutionize juvenile justice in
