Campaign season is in full swing!  Be sure to join us at some of the many 
volunteer mobilizations in this week's newsletter!

NEWS:
The San Francisco Sentinel covered Terry Baum's kick-off party last week.  
The online newspaper also covered Renee Saucedo's endorsement from Dog PAC.

Jane Kim has been endorsed by The League of Pissed Off Voters and the Tenants 
Union. Her campaign is also launching a campaign blog, where Jane and other 
campaign volunteers will be writing entries about their experiences.

It was a busy week for School Board Member Mark Sanchez. He received the 
endorsements of the Service Employees International Union, Local 21-Professional 
and Technical Engineers, Association of Federated Teachers-Local 2121, Tenants 
Union, and the League of Pissed Off Voters.

Matt Gonzalez will be interviewed by Bruce Petit on City Desk News Hour.   
The show will air Thursday, 9/30 at 7 PM, Friday 10/1 at 8:30 PM, Saturday 10/2 
at 7 PM, and Sunday 10/3 at 8:30 PM on cable channel 11.

Governor Schwarzenegger's administration has assembled a massive document 
proposing major reforms in state government.  Citizens are able to submit 
feedback on the plan, but the deadline is September 30.  It is important for Greens 
to participate in this discussion.  Visit www.cpr.ca.gov/feedback/ to see the 
plan and to submit comments.

EVENTS AND MOBILIZATIONS:
Saturday & Sunday, September 25 & 26
Join us for a precinct walking mobilizations for School Board candidate Jane 
Kim.  Come to the campaign headquarters at 275 Arguello Boulevard from 11AM -

Sunday, September 26
Join the campaigns of Terry Baum for Congress and Susan King for Supervisor 
to distribute literature from 11 AM - 3 PM.  The mobilization will take place 
at Susan King's campaign headquarters at 1347 Divisadero Street, between 
O'Farrell and Ellis in the Western Addition.  The plan is to distribute Terry Baum 
and Susan King literature throughout the district, and meet the many diverse 
voters in District 5.  The mobilization will be followed with an afternoon party 
featuring
refreshments, light entertainment and socializing.  Please contact Sue

Sunday, September 26 
The League of Pissed Off Voters is having a benefit at Kelly's Mission Rock 
from 5 PM until midnight. Kelly's Mission Rock is located at 817 Terry Francois 
Boulevard in San Francisco. DJs will be spinning hip hop, reggae and soulful 
house, and there will also be some live acts. Donation is $10-20. The League 
will release its top 5 endorsements for San Francisco, so come celebrate! 21+

Sunday, September 26
Join the Renee Saucedo for Supervisor campaign for Sunday morning car/bike 
caravans!  Bring your bike or your vehicle (bikes are preferred!) and help us 
get the word out in District 9 about Renee's run for Supervisor.  These will be 
taking place every Sunday until the election at 11 AM.  Meet at 977 Shotwell 
Street near 24th Street in San Francisco.  Please note that we're not meeting

Monday, September 27 
San Francisco Green Party Endorsement Forum: Candidates for Supervisor 
This forum will be for supervisorial candidates seeking our endorsement in 
districts 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, and 11. We've already endorsed Renee Saucedo in 9, but 
will consider other ranked endorsements in that district.  This will be an 
opportunity to hear from the candidates, and the decisions will be made at the 
meeting on September 29. The forum takes place at the SFGP office, located at 
1028 A Howard Street between 6th and 7th Streets in San Francisco from 6 - 10

Tuesday, September 28
Come to the School Board Meeting to support Proposition F and those on the 
School Board who are planning to endorse the measure.  The board will be voting 
on a resolution to endorse Proposition F.  The meeting will be held at 7 PM at 
555 Franklin Street, between McAllister and Fulton.  

Wednesday, September 29 
Special General Meeting 
The meeting starts at 7:30 PM, and will be held at the SFGP office, located 
at 1028 A Howard Street between 6th and 7th Streets in San Francisco. Agenda 
includes discussion of supervisor races in Districts 1, 3, 7, 9, and 11.

Thursday, September 30 
Join us for Rockin' with Mark Sanchez and Eric Mar at El Rio, located at 3158 
Mission Street near Cesar Chavez from 7-9 PM.  DJ Llewellyn will be providing

Friday, October 1
Come to an Art Auction for Tomorrow's Picassos and Rembrandts!  Auction will 
benefit the re-election campaigns of school board members Mark Sanchez and 
Eric Mar, and takes place from 6-9 PM at the Law Offices of Amparan, Kelly and 
Young, located at 885 Bryant near 6th Street in San Francisco.  This is an 
opportunity to purchase the art of tomorrow's famous artists, such as Yvonne 
Beatty, Michael Rauner and Susan Vaughan.  For more information or to donate art,

Come to a dance party for Renee Saucedo, Candidate for District 9 Supervisor! 
 Entertainment will be provided by Dr. Loco's Rockin' Jalapeno Band.  The 
dance party takes place at the Mission Neighborhood Center, located at 362 Capp 
Street, from 7 - 10:30 PM.  There will be refreshments, great music and a

Saturday, October 2 
Dating and Dancing for Jane Kim!
Yes, the personal is political.  As a benefit for Jane's campaign, several 
Bay Area luminaries, and some campaign volunteers, will be auctioned off.  Party 
follows. Proceeds from the auction go entirely to the campaign.  The event 
takes place at The Velvet Lounge, located at 443 Broadway Street in San 
Francisco.  Doors open at 7 PM, Date Auction begins at 8 PM, DJs/Dancing 9 PM until 
close.  Cost is $5 Before 9 PM and $8 after 9 PM.  Please use the VIP Line and

Sunday, October 3
Join us at the Castro Street Fair!  The fair takes place from 11 AM - 6 PM in 
the areas of Castro, Market, and 18th Streets.  Tens of thousands of folks 
traditionally gather at this end-of-summer shindig to flaunt their latest looks 
and grab a piece of sunshine.  There will be performance and dance areas, 
including the Futura Latin stage, the Braindrops Electronic Dance stage, and a 
country-western stage.  Castro Street Fair is a nonprofit organization raising 
money for charities near and dear to the neighborhood community.

Come to a party for Mark Sanchez and Eric Mar at Ireland 32, located at 3920 
Geary Boulevard near 3rd Avenue.  Join us from 7 - 9 PM, where DJ Platypus 
will be spinning the tunes as we rock for Mark Sanchez and Eric Mar.

Deporting the American Dream: A Benefit to Raise Awareness on Immigration 
Issues
Speakers and performers include: Matt Gonzalez, President of San Francisco 
Board of Supervisors; Banafsheh Akhlagi, civil rights attorney; Bérta Hernandez, 
Immigrant Rights Coalition; Jill Knight, folk singer-songwriter; Sun of 
Mercury pop rock band; Youth Speaks spoken word; Nilofar Talebi poetry; DJ 
Jeremiah;  and Tango No. 9, a live Tango band.  Event takes place from 6 - 10 PM at 
Studio Z, 314 11th Street near Folsom in San Francisco.  The cost is $7-$20

Monday, October 4 
Join us from 6-8 PM at a fundraiser for the Renee Saucedo campaign with Medea 
Benjamin.  The event takes place at the El Toro Nightclub, located at 2470 
San Bruno Avenue.   Cost is sliding scale $10-$100.  There will be drinks,

Tuesday, October 5 
Rent Party with Comedy & Music for the San Francisco Coalition on 
Homelessness at the Great American Music Hall! 
The San Francisco Coalition on Homelessness is in danger of losing their 
offices. The organization's resume is a 17 year-long list of successes, among them 
a homeless death prevention team, the development of supportive housing, and 
a shelter grievance program. The Rent Party will include performers Doug 
Ferrari, Brian Copeland, Killing My Lobster, Tom Ammiano, Jim Short, Las Vegas 
Headliner Mickey Joseph, San Francisco's The Meehan Brothers, and Jimmy Gunn from 
Deep Space. Rock with the Junior Panthers, and groove with Gene Burkert's HiFi 
Jazz. Doors open at 7 PM, showtime is 7:30. Tickets are $20 in advance and

Wednesday, October 6
Garlic & Grass presents 1-2-3 DEMOCRACY, A Benefit for Instant Runoff Voting 
and the Center for Voting and Democracy.
The event takes place at El Rio, located at 3158 Mission Street in San 
Francisco.  Doors open at 7 PM, cost is $7; 21+ with ID.  Music provided by Sunfire 
Pleasure, Chemystry Set, and Research & Development.  There will also be 
speakers from the Center for Voting and Democracy and the Green Party, including 
Matt Gonzalez, Steven Hill, and June Brashares.
