- The campaign shifts into high gear this weekend in progressive districts D-1 (Mar), D-5 (Mirkarimi), D-9 (Sanchez) & D-11 (Avalos) with brand new literature. Come check it out at any of the campaign offices. Very pretty. Take a precinct and let's win this thing!!!!
- Bruce Wolfe, candidate for City College Board makes statement:
"This has to stop and right now! The misuse of funds (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/10/09/MN3L138555.DTL) especially in violating elections law is not only unacceptable but unconscionable. It wreaks of corruption and I don't doubt there is much more to come. Two senior incumbent Trustees, have been on the board for nearly twenty years. A new candidate on the scene is implicated in the debacle as noted in the College's own internal investigative report. Grand Jury hearings are on the horizon and that does not bode well for the luster of our gem of the city. Plus, the District Attorney has chimed in requesting "tens of thousands" of documents according to the College's legal counsel. "As the new Trustee on the Board, I will stop this incessant playing around with taxpayer money and time. It is time for change. We must return the integrity and accountability of our most supportive resource in San Francisco and to the 100,000+ students that comes through it's doors everyday.
"We need real assertive oversight and presence from our Trustees. They need to be trusted. I will bring it."
