Dear Greens,

See below for some very interesting events coming up this week,
including a visit from a couple of UK Greens at Barry Hermanson's
mailing party this Monday. We look forward to seeing you there!

What: Single Payer Now! Mailing Party
Where:	Barry Hermanson's house, 2467 28th Ave in SF,
  1/2 block from L-Taraval Muni
When: Mon, Aug 7, noon to 6 pm (with dinner afterwards)

Dear Healthcare Activist,

We need your help on Monday, August 7, sorting a few thousand Senate
Bill 562, the Healthy California Act. We will sort the cards
according to their Assembly Districts and then mail them with a note
encouraging the Assembly Members to support single payer healthcare.
The most important time is between noon and 2pm when we do the
sorting. Then we write the letters, address the envelopes, and mail
them.

We have a special treat at 4pm as 2 Green Party members visiting from
the UK, Catherine and Eamonn O'Nolan, will stop by after 4 p.m. for an
informal conversation about healthcare in the UK. Eamonn is a Green
Councillor in the UK and a Green Party leader in Suffolk County.

At 6pm, Barry Hermanson will prepare a vegetarian meal for everyone.
Please let us know if you will be coming for dinner so Barry knows how
much food to prepare. Please RSVP for dinner at
barry at hermansons.com or 415-255-9494.

The money bail system is one of the main feeders of mass
incarceration. Yet, few people know what the money bail system is, let
alone how it all works or why we need to do away with it.

Come watch The Bail Trap: American Ransom from Brave New
Films <https://www.facebook.com/bravenewfilms/> to learn about this
issue and how to support current bail reform legislation (California
Senate Bill SB 10). Discussion to follow.
