Dear Greens,

At our August members' meeting, we made more endorsements on
propositions. Our endorsements to date are posted on our website:
  https://sfgreenparty.org/endorsements/102-november-2022-endorsements

We have sent candidate questionnaires to all candidates for
Supervisor, Board of Education, College Board, BART Board, Public
Defender, and District Attorney to all candidates we have contact info
for. These questionnaires are due tomorrow night, Sep 3, at 11:59 pm.
If you support any particular candidates, please remind them to turn
in their questionnaire. If they have not received it, they should
contact us ASAP at cc at sfgreens.org.

Completed questionnaires will be posted on our website, and
candidates who return our questionnaires by tomorrow will be invited
to our candidate forum and endorsement meeting on Wed, September 7,
detailed below.

We'll send our one more notice when answers to our questionnaires
have been received and posted on our website.

Keeping rental housing empty is one way landlords manipulate the
housing market. At this forum we will discuss local ballot measures
for an empty homes tax. We will also examine rent control and other
affordable housing policies; and look at the battle over Howard
Terminal in Oakland, which is really about gentrification and real
estate profits, not about a ball park. Moderated by Marsha Feinland,
former Berkeley Rent Board Commissioner.

Gwen McLaughlin – member of San Francisco Democratic Socialists of
America working on the Empty Homes Tax initiative

Steve Barton – retired City of Berkeley Housing Director and Deputy
Director of the Rent Board; currently on the Board of the Bay Area
Community Land Trust

Michael Rubin – member of the Socialist group Solidarity and the
Oakland Greens

John-Marc Chandonia – San Francisco Green Party County Council

Organizations listed for identification purposes only. This event is
sponsored by the Oakland Greens, Bay Area System Change Not Climate
Change, and the Alameda County Peace and Freedom Party. For more
information, email info at sudssnackssocialism.org.
