    Happy Earth Day!  Please join us at outreach events throughout
this weekend, and at our membership meeting next Wednesday!

    Many Bay Area Greens attended the Alameda Green Party's recent
Green Sunday program, "A Conversation About Ukraine and Peace, with
Jill Stein & Howie Hawkins."  This was a very interesting public
debate between Green Party leaders about our position on the war in
Ukraine (see: https://www.gp.org/ukraine_war).  For people who

What:  Kali Akuno on Water Justice
Where:  Alice Griffith Community Room, 2600 Arelious Walker Dr, SF
When:  Thurs, April 20, 2-4 pm

Kali Akuno of Cooperation Jackson will speak in a Bayview-Hunters
Point San Francisco community venue highlighting efforts to clean up
and access clean water.  Organized by Renay Jenkins of the
Bayview-Hunters Point Mothers and Fathers Committee with assistance
from John Torok, SEIU Local 1000 DLC 743 (for identification purposes
only).

Water Justice: The View from Flint, New Orleans, and Jackson,
Mississippi proposes to situate the environmental injustices at
Bayview Hunters Point in the broader context of racist neglect of some
other Black communities elsewhere in the country. Attention will be
drawn to the intersection of class, gender and race and historical
injustices.

What:  People's Earth Day March and Rally with Youth vs. Apocalypse
Where:  Embarcadero Plaza, San Francisco
When:  Friday, April 21, 10 am

Join Youth vs. Apocalypse in the streets demanding climate and
environmental justice as part of the People’s Earth Day movement!
Meet at Embarcadero Plaza at 10 am for a rally and march addressing
oil drilling setbacks, migrant justice, and fossil fuel divestment.

What:  Earth Day Outreach in Sunset and Bayview Hunters Point
Where:  9th/Lincoln, then Bayview Plaza - see below
When:  Saturday, April 22, 10:30 am - 3 pm

Join SF Greens for Earth Day outreach across the City!

We'll start at 9th Ave and Lincoln, at 10:30 am, near SF's
official Earth Day event in Golden Gate Park.

At around 11:30, we'll head over to Bayview Plaza to join the Bayview
Hunters Point Community Peoples Earth Day Peace Walk and Environmental
Justice Rally.

This rally will be held from 12 - 3 pm, starting at the Bayview Plaza,
3801 3rd Street, SF.  It's sponsored by the Bayview Hunters Point
Mothers and Fathers Committee, Marie Harrison Community Foundation,
Inc, and Greenaction For Health and Environmental Justice.

What:  People's Earth Day for Water Justice
Where:  Lake Merritt Amphitheater, btw 12th St & 1st Ave, Lake Merritt
        Blvd, Oakland
When:  Sunday, April 23, 1 pm

What It's About:

The San Francisco Bay, and its Frontline communities likely to be hit
hardest by climate disruption and sea level rise, face increasing
toxic flooding and other pollution threats to neighborhoods, drinking
water, and Bay wildlife.

Gather to learn and take action to protect both the Bay and its
communities and ecosystems from:

- Sea Level Rise and Groundwater Rise
- Toxic Sites Around the Bay
- Sewage Overflows
- Harmful Algae Blooms
- Water Pollution from Refineries

Where:  Redstone Bldg (2940 16th Street, near South Van Ness) #301, SF
When:  Wed, March 22, 7-9 pm

Agenda:
    * Introductions
    * Update on Statewide legislation
    * Discussion on Bonds - revenue vs general obligation, etc
    * Endorsement decision on Climate Action Bond
    * Update on outreach letter to SF Greens
    * Student journalism - SF State Journalist questions for Greens

Every 4th Wednesday the SF Green Party meets to discuss issues of
concern, listen to interesting speakers, endorse events, plan outreach
and more!  Everyone welcome.  All meetings are wheelchair accessible.

Mask policy: Masks are currently optional indoors, for both vaccinated
and non-vaccinated people.  We provide the option for SF Green Party
members and invited candidates to participate in our meetings via
