Ann -- They wouldn't let you vote provisionally? I thought any polling place in the city had to allow registered SF voters to vote on a provisional ballot, which then gets hand-counted at City Hall. I'm astounded that you would get turned away by a polling place. That only happened to me one time in my life, over 20 years ago, & it still stings every time I think about it. It is totally illegal, from my understanding, for a pollworker to do that. I'm saying that because that's what I was told after the same thing happened to me. I complained to the Dept. of Elections and the Elections Commission and I still have the flyer that the Prop A. campaign hung on my door last Tuesday directing me to the wrong polling place, fecklessly or intentionally.
