Please join us this weekend at the confluence of the Earth Day and
March for Science events (details below). We will have several

also preparing for a big event on May Day! Details for all of these
events are below.

What: March for Science
Where: Justin Herman Plaza (near Embarcadero), SF
When: Sat, April 22, 11 am (Greens meet at 2 pm at Civic Center)
The March for Science - San Francisco celebrates public discovery,
understanding, and distribution of scientific knowledge as crucial to
the freedom, success, health, and safety of life on this planet. We
are a nonpartisan group, marching in support of the following goals:
Communication, Funding, Policy, Literacy, and Diversity.
11 am - Speeches From Bay Area Members
12:30 pm - March down Market St to Civic Center Plaza
3-6 pm - Science Fair at Civic Center Plaza
Join Greens after the march at 2 pm, at the corner of Larkin and Grove
streets next to the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. We will have "Green
Party" flags and do voter outreach to participants in both the March
for Science and Earth Day events. Call Barry at 415-255-9494 if you
arrive after 2 and can't find us; we'll be moving around the crowd.

Where: Redstone Bldg (2940 16th Street, near South Van Ness) #301, SF
When: Wed, April 26, 7-9 pm
We have confirmed two interesting speakers for our meeting:
Chris Jerdonek, SF Elections Commission President will update us on
the move to Open Source Voting in SF and take questions on that
project and on Elections related matters. He's tentatively scheduled
to speak 7:30 pm.
Ben Grieff, Campaign Director of Evolve, will fill us in on Evolve's
grassroots efforts focusing on Prop 13 reform. He'll arrive toward
the end of the first half of the meeting, and is tentatively scheduled
to speak at 8 pm.
We will also discuss organizing and voter outreach at other upcoming
marches and events taking place through May.

What: May Day
Where: Various Locations in SF (see below)
When: Mon, May 1, all day
May 1, also known as "May Day" or "International Workers Day," is
historically a day of global mass action and major immigrant rights
protests in the U.S. The time has never been more relevant to return
to May Day's roots, and to launch a summer of resistance against this
dangerous right wing administration.
Organizers are planning for a Monday May 1 rally from 9 am to 10 am at
the ILWU Local 10 Hall 400 North Point, and then a march to Justin
Herman Plaza to join the 11am startup Rally for the main San Francisco
May Day march to Civic Center.

movement towards banning them from operating in SF.
