Here's a good list of summer festivals, to give us some ideas for places to table beyond the two we have coming up in June (Haight St and Pride): http://sfist.com/2017/05/12/heres_the_only_2017_sf_street_fair.php They left off the Mime Troupe opening in Dolores Park (which will only be on Tues, July 4 this year): http://www.sfmt.org/ JMC -- John-Marc Chandonia (jmc@sfgreens.org) http://sfgreens.org/
When is tabling in the Mission/Sunday Streets @ Mission/24th st, Valencia, Excelsior. My family is under the radar. I'm trying to hook up with the city immigrant coalition made up of about 13 community organizations and City Hall. That I know of they don't meet on the weekends. If I can hook up with them/Mayor Ed Lee on protecting the immigrant community, I could try to table for the 2nd of July at the Fillmore and at Mission. My unemployment insurance, three more weeks of coverage in June. Probably mid June last unemployment check. Am trying to find online tutoring book, but got to find remedial math used book because I can't remember formulas for percentage, converting celsius to farenheit, vice versa plus have to not make more than will be limit for Medical since my health insurance, is now $29 a month which I won't be able to afford with my social security $498 a month after July of this year. So far cataract surgery, opthamalogist said it's up to God how succesful it wil be. She's Iranian and very nice. Can't read poetry books because my eyes have to be ok for prescription for reading glasses. Sorry for carrying on about my personal/political life. Like Nelson Peery used to say everying personal is political, nothing political is personal. Those sons of ###### Nelson Peery was too much for them. He wrote a poem denouncing private property of land. Just want to inquire about organizing the tabling events. Do we already have a specific person doing the coordinating and planning? I’d like to help out onsite with tabling, but I’d also like to reach out to newly-registered GP members to recruit for the events. We spoke of something similar in last month’s monthly general meeting. Is it possible to get the data file of newish GP members into an Excel file? I’d be willing to call some of these folks. It would be good if we could get a few people to help with this. The purpose of the calls would be: (1) welcome them to SFGP and (2) invite them to volunteer at the tabling events/tell them about other volunteer opportunities. What do you all think?

Rich has registered to get tables for the events in June. Barry and I will take charge of getting our boot there, and we'll try to organize volunteers at our meeting next Wed. We could use help if you want to be a point person for other events starting in July.
I???d like to help out onsite with tabling, but I???d also like to reach out to newly-registered GP members to recruit for the events. We spoke of something similar in last month???s monthly general meeting.

Barry is currently drafting a letter, and I'll generate the mail/call lists from our database. Let's get the letter sent out between our meeting next week and the end of the month, then do follow-up calls between the time new Greens receive the letter and our June events we'd be asking them to help with (the first being on June 11, but we can keep calling through Pride). 1. What will the letter say? Is it a general call to action or does it mention only certain upcoming events? 2. Do we know what materials we want to have at the booths? Literature, voter reg forms, etc.? 3. Do we have a plan/strategy of how to motivate people to join the GP and participate/contribute to its success during our outreach efforts? 4. More ideas for events below. I looked on the schedule for Fun, Cheap SF (http://sf.funcheap.com/ <http://sf.funcheap.com/>) and found some more weekend festivals for June and July (and beyond). One of them, the inner Sunset Block Party has the following future events (2nd Sundays of each month): Second Sundays May to Sept + October 15th | 10 am to 4 pm Irving Street (9th-10th avenues) June 11th July 9th August 13th September 10th October 15th – Moved to the third Sunday to avoid Hardly Strictly Bluegrass I put the new events I found in red font on the attached calendars. For ease of reference, I’ll list them below: June: June 3-4: Union St. Festival June 17-18: North Beach Festival July: July 1-2: Fillmore Jazz Festival July 9: Inner Sunset Flea & Block Party/Street Festival July 30: Treasure Island Flea (not sure about this one, might be a pain for people to get over there)

I'm editing Barry's draft now. I'd like to do a general call to get involved, with the 2 events in June highlighted. I'll send the latest draft to the list.
2. Do we know what materials we want to have at the booths? Literature, voter reg forms, etc.?
Both of these, plus 1-2 forms where people could sign up to get involved in specific issues (e.g., medicare for all).
3. Do we have a plan/strategy of how to motivate people to join the GP and participate/contribute to its success during our outreach efforts?
I usually use roughly the same pitch I'm including in the letter.
4. More ideas for events below.
Union St and North Beach are not great; too fratty. Fillmore Jazz just never has enough people. We've never tried Inner Sunset Flea, so that sounds like the best bet! JMC
