New York City, according to an October 18, 2004 New Yorker article, is more populous than eleven states; if it were granted statehood, it would rank fifty-first per capita in energy use. The TWG also believes that legislation should include a minimum of one bicycle-parking space per unit and that the number of parking spaces dedicated to car share vehicles should be significantly increased. In fact, the TWG believes that an increase in the number of spaces dedicated to car shares should be added to the legislation instead of amending the by right from .5 to .75 per unit. The New Yorker article adds, By far the worst damage we Americans do to the planet arises not from the newspapers we throw away but from the eight hundred and fifty million or so gallons of oil we consume every day. We all know this at some level, yet we live like alcoholics in denial. As policy makers and political leaders we are counting on the Board of Supervisors to acknowledge the truth about the American way of life and begin to formulate policy that curbs the damage that we Americans do. I'll make these changes. The leg will eliminate the current parking minimum of one parking space per unit and replace that min. with a maximum of one space per every four units (.25); however, with a conditional use permit, developers will be able to go up to .5, according to the current legislation, or .75 if the appeal succeeds. Hi, Here's my current list of active members of the TWG, based on people we added last year. Let me know if this list is accurate: John-Marc Chandonia Sue Vaughan Ed Chavez Christine McClintock Jerry Path Pi Ra I only have records of Kathy Roberts, Susan King, and Dave Snynder attending 1 TWG meeting last year, and Steve Willis zero (plus he changed to DTS) so they're no longer active. Is that correct? Eric Brooks has attended more than 2 meetings, but we haven't added him yet... we can do that at our next meeting. John Rizzo and Pierre have each attended 2 meetings, so we could add them at the next meeting they attend. I don't have minutes for September or October, so this record could be inaccurate... let me know if there are minutes for those meetings. We all know this at some level, yet we live like alcoholics in denial. As policy makers and political leaders we are counting on the Board of Supervisors to acknowledge the truth about the American way of life and begin to formulate policy that curbs the damage that we Americans do.
